Recent Karnataka elections have witnessed an increase in NOTA voting trends. The security deposits lost by candidates has also substantially increased. In the state total 3.84 Cr people have exercised their voting rights; amongst them 2, 69,763 (0.69%) voters have pressed the NOTA button. By voting NOTA these people have highlighted that none of the contesting candidates are good enough to be elected. In Belagavi district, 18 assembly seats have registered 17180 NOTA. Belagavi (North) has 1161 (0.78%), Belagavi (South)- 1599 (1%), Belagavi Rural 1165 (0.57%) but Raibag has had the highest NOTA voting ie; 1860.

In the state 31 BJP candidates, 12 Congress, 208 AAP, 15 SDPI candidates have forfeited their deposits. In Belagavi district 139 candidates out of 187 have lost their deposit only 48 candidates could salvage their deposits.

NOTA logo was designed by Ahmadabad based National Institute of Design. NOTA has been enforced since 2013.
